However, Oprah is most known for being a talk show host on her own show the Oprah Winfrey Show. This show was aired from 1986 to 2011. In 2011, Oprah started her own television network called the Oprah Winfrey Network which is often known as OWN. A philanthropist is when someone cares about the wellness of others and tries to make a change. This can be from donating to charity or homeless shelters.
